Fulham Law Office requires an individual for the position of Lawyer primarily in the area of Real Estate Law. The successful candidate will be an entrepreneurial, dynamic and energetic individual interested in working in a fast paced and dynamic law practice. Qualifications
- Current License to practice Law in Manitoba.
- Minimum of 2 – 3 years related experience.
- Demonstrated skills and ability in business development is essential.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with all levels of staff and the public.
- Excellent computer skills.
Representative Duties & Responsibilities
- Legal duties pertaining to real estate purchase and sales; Legal duties pertaining to Wills and Estates may be included.
- Business development – networking, recruiting of new and perspective clients.
- Conducting meetings with clients and real estate agents.
- Delegating duties and responsibilities to office staff; providing direction and evaluating performance of office staff.
- Other related duties as assigned.

Job title:
Legal Assistant
Fulham Law Office requires an individual for the position of a Legal Assistant. The successful candidate must have formal training as a legal assistant, five years related experience, and be familiar with all aspects of residential sale, purchase and re-finance files.
Education
- Formal training as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal in Manitoba (ie. Certificate in Legal Administrative Assistant course from a recognized Community College); a University Undergraduate Degree would be an asset.
- In depth knowledge of legal terminology and principles in the area of real estate law.
- Training in related computer systems and other computer applications (Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook. PC Law).
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Experience
- A minimum of three to five years related experience.
Other
- Ability to meet with clients to obtain and provide necessary information related to real estate transactions.
- Ability to prioritize and work under tight deadlines.
- Ability to analyze legal documents for accuracy.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy.
- Willingness to undergo a Criminal Record.
- Ability to be Bonded.
Main Function
The Legal Assistant is responsible for assisting lawyers by preparing legal documents and correspondence, communicating with all parties involved in real estate transactions, reconciliation of trust funds and conducting marketing phone calls.
Representative Duties & Responsibilities
- Check legal forms for accuracy.
- Keep track of funds in accordance with Law Society requirements; balance trust ledgers.
- Prepare necessary correspondence and reports.
- Perform legal research as necessary.
- Draft legal documents.
- Responsible for conducting Tax and Title Searches.
- Responsible for processes related to the Land Titles Office.
- Maintain catalogue of client email addresses and other pertinent information.
- Maintain client satisfaction documentation, etc.
- Correspond with clients regularly and on a timely basis, verbally and in writing.
- In the absence of lawyer(s), meet with clients to provide information as appropriate and to provide documents for signatures.
- Meet closing deadlines in files.
- Delivering completed file to lawyer for signatures.
- Conduct marketing phone calls.
- Maintain office training manual.
- Ensure other staff (First Canadian Title, etc) is cross trained on certain processes for relief assistance during absences, etc.
- Purchase supplies – cheques, letterhead, business cards, etc..
- Provides relief/holiday reception backup.
- Perform other related duties as required.
